Reconcile Stripe payouts automatically
To reconcile Stripe payouts automatically, FrugalPod’s Reconciler agent reads each payout, matches it to the charges, fees and refunds inside it, and checks the total against the deposit in your bank feed. Gaps are listed for you. Stripe connects read-only by default, and any change to your books waits for your approval.
- The FrugalPod finance pod reads Stripe and checks every payout against your bank feed and ledger.
- The Reconciler explains the gap between what customers paid and what landed in your bank.
- Stripe connects read-only by default, and you choose whether any agent may change anything.
- Journal entries, record changes and anything that moves money wait for your approval.
- Every step is written to an activity log you can open when your accountant asks.

How access to Stripe works
When you connect Stripe, FrugalPod asks for the narrowest permissions each agent needs, and the connection starts read-only. Reading payouts and charges is enough for matching. You decide, agent by agent, whether anything may be changed. Payments, record changes and entries in your books wait for approval in the FrugalPod app or in Slack. You can revoke the connection at any time. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and it is never used to train FrugalPod’s models or its AI providers’ models. The FrugalPod security page explains approvals and the activity log.
Getting started with Stripe
- Create a free FrugalPod account. It starts with 100 free credits and no card is needed.
- Connect Stripe, then connect your bank feed and your accounting tool, QuickBooks or Xero.
- Keep the Stripe connection read-only, and decide whether any agent may propose entries to your books.
- Run the Reconciler on last month’s payouts and compare its matches with what you or your bookkeeper did by hand.
- Approve the matches that are right, correct the ones that are not, and let it run daily.

QuickBooks, Xero, Bill.com, Slack.
How does FrugalPod reconcile Stripe payouts?
The FrugalPod finance pod has three agents. The Reconciler matches bank, card and payout lines to the ledger daily, so differences surface the day they happen rather than at month end. The Close assistant prepares accruals and the month-end pack for review. Nothing posts to your books until you approve it, and every action is recorded in the activity log with what happened, when and why. You pay for the work agents do, not per seat, so your bookkeeper and your accountant can review on any plan. The full walkthrough is in how to automate bank reconciliation.

Common questions
Something missing? Write to admin@frugalpod.com and a person will reply.
Why does my Stripe payout not match my sales total?
A payout is a net amount. Stripe deducts its fees, subtracts refunds and disputes, and bundles charges from several days into one deposit. So the payout rarely equals the sales you see for a single day. The Reconciler lists what sits inside each payout so the difference is explained.
Will FrugalPod move money or change anything in Stripe?
No, not by default. The Stripe connection is read-only, and FrugalPod asks only for the permissions each agent needs. Anything that sends, spends or changes a record waits for your approval, and you can revoke the connection at any time.
Can it post entries to QuickBooks or Xero?
Both are tools FrugalPod’s finance pod connects to. Agents can prepare entries, but nothing is written to your books until you approve it. You decide per agent whether it may change anything at all, so you can start with matching only.
Is this tax or accounting advice?
No. FrugalPod does the matching and prepares the figures for review. How sales tax, fees and refunds should be treated depends on where you operate, so check treatment with a qualified accountant or bookkeeper.
What does it cost?
FrugalPod charges by the work agents do, in credits where 1 credit is 1 cent. You can start free with 100 credits, pay as you go at $1 per 100 credits, or choose Starter at $19 a month or Pro at $49 a month. Every plan includes every integration.
