How access to Bill.com works
When you connect Bill.com, FrugalPod asks for the narrowest permissions each agent needs, and the connection starts read-only. A read-only Invoice checker can still read bills and report its check results to you. You decide, agent by agent, whether it may change anything in Bill.com. By default, payments, approvals and record changes wait for a person in the FrugalPod app or in Slack, and you can revoke the connection at any time. Every action is recorded in the activity log with what happened, when and why. The FrugalPod security page covers approvals, encryption and data handling.

Where does FrugalPod fit with Bill.com approvals?
Bill.com is where bills arrive, get approved and get paid, and its own approval flow is built for that. FrugalPod’s finance pod works beside it. The Invoice checker reads each bill and says whether it matches its PO or looks like a duplicate. Your approver still decides. By default, nothing is paid, approved or changed until a person says so, in the app or in Slack. A hard budget cap limits what the pod can spend, and you pay for finished work, not per seat. Common questions
Something missing? Write to admin@frugalpod.com and a person will reply.
Can FrugalPod approve or pay bills in Bill.com?
Not by default. The Invoice checker validates a bill and reports the result, and approving and paying wait for a person. You can also keep change rights off entirely. Later you can choose to let a routine category go through on its own, but by default nothing is paid automatically.
How does it spot a duplicate bill?
The Invoice checker compares each new bill with earlier ones, looking for the same supplier, number or amount, and warns when a bill looks like a repeat. You describe what counts as a duplicate. It only warns, and a person decides what to do.
Does it chase approvers who are slow?
No. Chasing is not one of the finance pod’s jobs. The Invoice checker validates, the Reconciler matches and the Close assistant prepares month end. A custom agent can handle a reminder routine if you want one.
Does it replace my bookkeeper or accountant?
No. It prepares checks and entries so they can review instead of re-keying. FrugalPod gives general support, not tax or accounting advice, and rules vary by location, so ask a qualified advisor about filing and tax questions.
What does it cost?
FrugalPod charges by the work agents do, in credits where 1 credit is 1 cent. You can start free with 100 credits, pay as you go at $1 per 100 credits, or choose Starter at $19 a month or Pro at $49 a month. Every plan includes every integration.
