AI agents in Slack, with approvals
FrugalPod agents can ask for approval in Slack, so you can say yes or no to a drafted email, a payment or a record change without opening another app. Agents also work with your Slack for support and HR jobs. They connect read-only by default, and nothing that sends, spends, publishes or changes a record happens until a person approves it.
- Approvals can happen in Slack or in the FrugalPod app, whichever your team prefers.
- Anything that sends, spends, publishes or changes a record waits for a person.
- Slack is used by the support pod, the HR pod and custom agents.
- The connection is read-only by default, and you can revoke it at any time.
- Every agent action is logged with what happened, when and why.

How access to Slack works
Connecting Slack starts read-only, with the narrowest permissions each agent needs. You decide, agent by agent, whether it may do more than read. Approval requests wait for a person in the FrugalPod app or in Slack, and routine categories only go through on their own if you choose that later. You can revoke the connection at any time. Every action an agent takes is recorded in the activity log. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest and is never used to train FrugalPod’s models or its AI providers’ models. The security page explains how this works.
Getting started with Slack
- Create a free FrugalPod account. It starts with 100 free credits and no card is needed.
- Connect Slack and choose which pods and agents may use it. Access is read-only to begin with.
- Agree as a team who will look after which kinds of request, so approvals do not sit waiting.
- Test a custom agent on last month’s work and read what it would have proposed.
- Go live, approve or reject each request, and later choose which routine work may go through without asking.

Why approve agent work in Slack?
If your team already answers questions in Slack all day, an approval request there is likely to be seen sooner than one waiting in a separate inbox. FrugalPod’s default is that emails, messages, payments, posts and record changes wait for approval, and Slack is one place to give it. The support pod and HR pod both connect to Slack, and custom agents can use it for your own repeatable jobs. You pay for finished work, not seats, so your whole team can approve on any plan.

Something missing? Write to admin@frugalpod.com and a person will reply.
Can an agent act in Slack without my approval?
Not by default. Anything that sends, spends, publishes or changes a record waits for a person to approve it. Later you can choose to let a routine category of work go out on its own, but that is a decision you make, category by category.
Do I have to approve in Slack?
No. Approvals can be given in the FrugalPod app or in Slack. Use whichever your team checks more often. The result is the same: the action waits until a person says yes, and the decision is recorded in the activity log.
Which FrugalPod pods work with Slack?
The customer support pod and the HR pod connect to Slack, as do custom agents. Sales, marketing and finance pods connect to other tools, such as CRMs, ad platforms and accounting software. Each pod’s page lists the tools it works with.
What does it cost?
FrugalPod charges by the work agents do, in credits where 1 credit is 1 cent. You can start free with 100 credits and no card, pay as you go at $1 per 100 credits, or choose Starter at $19 a month or Pro at $49 a month. See pricing.
