AI ticket triage for Zendesk
AI ticket triage for Zendesk means an agent reads each new ticket, tags it, sets its priority and sends it to the right person, so nobody sorts the queue by hand. FrugalPod’s support pod does this inside Zendesk and drafts replies from your help center. The connection is read-only by default, and every change or reply waits for your approval.

How access to Zendesk works
When you connect Zendesk, FrugalPod asks for the narrowest permissions each agent needs, and the connection starts read-only. A read-only Triage agent can still suggest tags, priorities and routing for you to apply. You decide, agent by agent, whether it may change tickets at all. Even then, record changes and replies wait for approval in the FrugalPod app or in Slack until you choose to let a routine category go through on its own. You can revoke the connection at any time. The FrugalPod security page explains how access, approvals and the activity log work.
Getting started with Zendesk
- Create a free FrugalPod account. It starts with 100 free credits and no card is needed.
- Connect Zendesk to the support pod. The connection is read-only to begin with.
- List your usual ticket topics, which ones are urgent and who handles each, so Triage sorts the way your team does.
- Review the first tags, priorities and drafts and compare them with what your team would have done.
- Approve what is right, correct what is not, and let Triage keep sorting new tickets as they land.

How does FrugalPod handle Zendesk tickets?
FrugalPod’s support pod gives you three agents for the queue. Triage sorts tickets as they land, Responder drafts answers from your help center, and Success watcher flags customers at risk. Nothing is sent and no ticket is changed until you approve it, in the app or in Slack. A hard budget cap stops the pod from spending past what you set, and you pay for finished work, not per seat, so your whole team can review drafts on every plan. See pricing for credits.

What does ticket triage in Zendesk actually mean?
Triage is deciding what each ticket is about, how urgent it is and who should answer it. In Zendesk that usually means setting tags, priority and the assigned group. FrugalPod’s Triage agent does that sorting for each new ticket and records why it chose what it did.
Will the agent reply to my customers on its own?
No. The Responder agent drafts answers from your help center, and each draft waits for your approval in the FrugalPod app or in Slack. Later you can decide that a routine category of replies may go out without asking, but that is always your choice.
Do I have to rebuild my Zendesk setup first?
Not necessarily. Triage works with the topics, groups and priorities your team already uses, and you describe them in plain words. Because changes wait for approval, you can see where their sorting differs from yours before anything changes in Zendesk.
How is this different from Zendesk’s own automation rules?
Rules match fixed conditions you write, such as a keyword or a form field. An agent reads the whole message and handles wording you did not anticipate. Many teams will want both. The page on AI agents versus automation tools explains the trade-offs.
What does it cost?
FrugalPod charges by the work agents do, in credits where 1 credit is 1 cent. You can start free with 100 credits, pay as you go at $1 per 100 credits, or choose Starter at $19 a month or Pro at $49 a month. Every plan includes every integration.
