AI agent for Gmail follow-ups
An AI agent for Gmail follow-ups drafts the nudge, the quote reminder or the reply, and leaves the sending to you. FrugalPod’s agents connect to Gmail read-only by default, write drafts in your voice, and hold every email for your approval, so a follow-up never goes out that you haven’t seen first.
- FrugalPod connects to Gmail for three pods: sales, customer support and HR.
- The sales pod’s Follow-up writer drafts personal follow-ups and quotes from your price book.
- The connection is read-only by default, and nothing is sent until you approve it in the app or in Slack.
- Outreach honours opt-outs, quiet hours and consent rules such as CAN-SPAM.
- Every action is logged, and you can revoke the Gmail connection at any time.

How access to Gmail works
When you connect Gmail, FrugalPod asks for the narrowest permissions each agent needs, and the connection starts read-only. You decide, agent by agent, whether it may change anything. Emails, messages and record changes wait for approval in the FrugalPod app or in Slack. Later you can choose to let routine work in one category go out on its own, but nothing does that by default. You can revoke the connection at any time. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and it is never used to train FrugalPod’s models or its AI providers’ models. The FrugalPod security page explains how access, approvals and the activity log work.
Getting started with Gmail
- Create a free FrugalPod account. It starts with 100 free credits and no card is needed.
- Connect Gmail and choose which pods may use it. The connection is read-only to begin with.
- Give the Follow-up writer your price book and a few emails that sound like you, so drafts match your voice.
- Read the first drafts carefully before approving any of them.
- Approve what is right, edit what isn’t, and decide later whether any routine category may go out without asking.

How does FrugalPod handle Gmail follow-ups?
FrugalPod’s sales pod includes a Follow-up writer that drafts personal follow-ups and quotes from your price book. Drafts wait for your approval in the app or in Slack, so you read each one before it reaches a customer. Your whole team can review drafts on any plan, because FrugalPod has no per-user pricing. You pay for the work agents do, in credits, and every pod has a hard budget cap. The support pod and the HR pod also connect to Gmail for customer replies and interview invites. Will FrugalPod send emails from my Gmail without asking?
No. Emails wait for your approval by default, in the FrugalPod app or in Slack. Later you can choose to let routine work in a category go out on its own, but that is your decision, and you can switch it back. Every action is recorded in the activity log.
Does the agent read my whole inbox?
FrugalPod connects with the narrowest permissions an agent needs, and the connection starts read-only. You choose which pods may use Gmail and can revoke the connection at any time. The exact scope of mail each agent can read is something to confirm during setup with your own account.
Will follow-ups sound like me?
The Follow-up writer drafts in your voice, and you can read and edit every draft before it goes. Give it a few past emails you were happy with and your price book, then check the first drafts before anything reaches a customer.
Can it email people who asked not to be contacted?
FrugalPod’s outreach honours opt-outs, quiet hours and consent rules such as CAN-SPAM, and risky-looking messages are flagged before sending. Rules vary by location, so check with a qualified advisor about what applies to your business.
What does it cost?
FrugalPod charges by the work agents do, in credits where 1 credit is 1 cent. You can start free with 100 credits, pay as you go at $1 per 100 credits, or choose Starter at $19 a month or Pro at $49 a month. Every plan includes every integration.
