An AI agent for Google Drive files

An AI agent for Google Drive files reads the files a job needs, finds what a job needs and flags what is out of place, such as a missing document or an out-of-date copy. In FrugalPod this is a custom agent. It connects read-only by default, and by default renaming, moving or sharing anything waits for a person to approve it.

In short
  • In FrugalPod, Google Drive is used by custom agents that you describe in plain words.
  • An agent can find files, check what is missing from a folder and propose a tidier structure.
  • The connection is read-only by default, so an agent cannot rename, move, share or delete anything unless you allow it.
  • Anything that changes a record or sends a message waits for approval by default.
  • Every action is logged, and you can revoke the connection at any time.

How access to Google Drive works

Google Drive holds files that may be private, so access matters more here than almost anywhere. FrugalPod connects tools read-only by default, with the narrowest permissions an agent needs, and you decide per agent whether it may change anything. Even when an agent may change files, renames, moves, sharing changes and messages wait for approval in the FrugalPod app or in Slack, until you choose to let a routine category go through. You can revoke the connection at any time. Data is encrypted and never used to train models. The security page has the detail.

Getting started with Google Drive

  1. Create a free FrugalPod account. It starts with 100 free credits and no card is needed.
  2. Describe the job in plain words, for example: check each new client folder for the signed agreement and the intake form, and list what is missing.
  3. Connect Google Drive and keep it read-only, so the agent can look but not change anything.
  4. Set the rules: which folders the job covers, what counts as complete, and who should be told when something is missing.
  5. Test it on last month’s folders and read what it would have flagged. Go live only when the results look right, and keep approvals on.

How does FrugalPod work with Google Drive?

FrugalPod’s pods for sales, marketing, support, finance and HR each have named agents with defined jobs. Drive work is different for every business, so it belongs to custom agents, which are used by IT, legal, product, project management and procurement teams. You build one by describing the job in plain words, connecting Drive, setting the rules and testing it on last month’s work before it goes live. By default, nothing that sends, spends, publishes or changes a record happens without approval. The full activity log shows what each agent did and why. See pricing for how credits work.

Common questions

Something missing? Write to admin@frugalpod.com and a person will reply.

Can an agent delete or change my Drive files?

Not unless you allow it. The connection is read-only by default, and you decide per agent whether it may change anything. Even then, renames, moves and sharing changes wait for a person to approve them by default.

Does the agent need access to my whole Drive?

FrugalPod asks for the narrowest permissions an agent needs, and the connection starts read-only. Before you connect, decide which jobs need Drive at all and which sensitive files they might touch. You can revoke the connection at any time.

Does Google Drive have its own AI features?

Yes. Google offers built-in tools for searching and summarising inside its own apps, and they work well for one person looking through their own files. A custom agent suits repeatable jobs that follow your rules and cross into other tools, such as checking folders and then telling your team in Slack.

Is my document content used to train AI models?

No. Customer data is never used to train FrugalPod’s models or its AI providers’ models, and AI providers do not keep data after a request is completed. You can export your data at any time.

What does it cost?

FrugalPod charges by the work agents do, in credits where 1 credit is 1 cent, so a quick task costs less than a long one. You can start free with 100 credits and no card, or choose Starter at $19 a month or Pro at $49 a month.
